Steps to Sign Up and Use Facebook

Step 1 - Sign Up a Facebook Account

- Go to http://www.facebook.com with your web browser. 

- Click on 'Register' at the top right of the screen.

- Fill in the form: Full name, Email address, Password and password confirmation, Birthday

- Agree to the terms and conditions, 

- Click 'Register now'

- Activate your account by clicking on the link in the confirmation email that Facebook sent to your email address. The link will take you to new Facebook profile.

Step 2 - Personalize your profile

- Click the "Edit Profile" button at the top right corner of your profile

- Upload your picture. 

- Fill in personal details about yourself.

- To tag friends in activities that you do together, including Sports You Play, Activities, Education and Work, enter the names of your friends in the "With" fields.

- To feature a group you're a member of: under "Featured Friends," click "Add an existing list or group", select the group you'd like to feature and click "Add."

- To add a relationship to your profile: Under "Featured People", next to "Relationship Status", select your status from the drop down, and enter in the name of the person you want to add.

- To add family members to your profile: Click on "Featured People", type the name of your family member in the "Family" field and select their relation to you.

When you’re done, click "Save Changes.".

Step 3 - How to use Facebook

To post something, first decide whether you want to share a status update, question, photo, link or video, then click the corresponding link at the top of your Wall. To change who can see your post, select the drop-down menu at the top of the sharing interface. Press the blue "Share" button in the lower right corner to add the post to your Wall.

Find classmates. Click on 'Find my classmates'. Select the country, city, and the name of your school, and the class year. If you are searching for a specific person, input their name. Click 'Search for classmates'. Click 'Add to friends' when you recognize one or want to be friend with someone. You can also search by your college or university by inputting the name of the college, the year, and a classmate name.

Find workmates. Click on 'Search for your co-workers'. Type the name of the company you are looking for and the name of the employee, then click 'Search for co-workers' to find.
